OCM3-blooms

More Details

Cyclone Mandous is imaged by EOS-06. The image of the cyclone (above) is a combination of cloud structure captured by Ocean Colour Monitor (OCM) with wind vector data derived from the Scatterometer.  Â

High winds associated with the cyclone centre could be well-captured due to a unique combination of optical and microwave remote sensing-based data.

OCM3-blooms

OCM onboard EOS-06 has identified algae (coccolithophore) bloom off the coast of Argentina in the South Atlantic Ocean. Â

Overgrowth of Coccolith formation is potentially harmful. It reduces the alkalinity of seawater and releases CO2 and thus plays an important role in ocean biogeochemistry.Â
