Vikram Sarabhai Centenary Programme valedictory programme was conducted on 25th September 2020 through virtual mode. The programme was organized jointly by Department of Space and Department of Atomic Energy. The participants include Secretary, Department of Space / Chairman, Indian Space Research Organisation Dr. K Sivan, Secretary Department of Atomic Energy / Chairman, Atomic Energy commission, Shri KN Vyas, Dr Kasturirangan, Former Secretary, DOS, Dr. Chidambaram, Former Secretary, DAE, Scientific Secretary, ISRO and Dr. Kartikeya Sarabhai son of Dr. Vikram Sarabhai. After the invocation Dr. Sivan and others paid floral tributes to the burst of Dr. Vikram sarabhi. The speakers shared their association with Dr. Vikram Sarabhai and his contributions to the society and scientific community of the country. ISRO has brought out the souvenir of yearlong events conducted by ISRO, which was released by Dr. Kasturirangan and a special edition of Amar Chaitra Katha ‘Vikram Sarabhai - pioneering Indian Space Programme’ that was released by Dr. Chidambaram. On this occasion, CBPO, ISRO Hq conducted online competition- ISRO Cyberspace Competitions (ICC-2020). Around 2.04 lakhs students participated in drawing, model making, essay in English and Hindi and Quiz. The names of the winners were announced by secretary, DOS. Dr. Sivan also released the 3D view of Sarbhai crater captured by chandrayaan-2 orbiter. The yearlong activities by ISRO were covered by Dr. PV Venktakrishnan, Director, CBPO and activities by DAE were covered by Director, BARC. The Hon’ble President of India addressed the community and recalled the contributions of Dr. Sarabhai to the nation. The function ended with vote of thanks and National Anthem.
