The ZeeDP 2.0 Space Science Meet was conducted jointly by the Science Programme Office (SPO), Directorate of System Reliability and Quality (DSRQ), ISRO Headquarters and Space Applications Centre (SAC) during August 19–20, 2026, at the SAC campus in Ahmedabad. Organized as a proactive step to address the growing involvement of private players and non-ISRO/DOS academic institutions in space missions, the meeting aimed to establish standardized, uniform protocols to ensure "zero-defect" scientific instruments and data products.

The two-days meet brought together around 120 scientists and engineers from various ISRO/DOS centres. The meet also witnessed participation from leading academic and research institutions with legacy of developing and contributing to scientific payloads, providing a platform for interaction between the space-science community within ISRO/DOS and the wider scientific community.

In the inaugural session, Dr. Deepak Putrevu, Chair, Local Organising Committee welcomed all the participants. Dr. Tirtha Pratim Das, Director, SPO briefed the context for the National meet and Shri Imtiaz Ali Khan, Director, DSRQ provided an overview and implementation aspects of ZeeDP 2.0. On behalf of Director, SAC, the meet was inaugurated by Shri Manish Mehta, Deputy Director, SRQA, SAC. Prof. Anil Bhardwaj, Director, PRL delivered the presidential address and elaborated on the need for ensuring quality and reliability in science payload development life cycle. Smt. S. Megala, DD, SPO presented vote of thanks.

The technical sessions covered best practises followed by Systems Reliability (SR) entities at ISRO/DOS centres, standards adopted during archival and dissemination of data products, experiences and lessons learnt from AstroSat, Aditya-L1, XPosat, Chandrayaan-1, 2, 3 and Mars Orbiter Mission. The deliberations provided an opportunity to share practical experiences during the payload life cycle i.e from design to in-orbit operations, ideas to improve the quality of payloads and the need for consistency in adopting best practises.

This national-level meet marked an important step towards strengthening the processes associated with science payload development and science data product generation, while facilitating greater interaction and knowledge sharing among ISRO/DOS centres and academic institutions. The outcomes of the meet are expected to contribute towards establishing robust and standardised practices for future space science missions and enhancing the scientific value of the data generated by them.
