On the invitation of President French National Space Agency (CNES), Dr V Narayanan, Chairman, ISRO/ Secretary DOS participated in the International Space Summit at Paris during September 9-10, 2026. Director of Liquid Propulsion Systems Center, Director of Space Transportation Program Office, ISRO HQ, and Associate Scientific Secretary, ISRO also joined the delegation. Chairman, ISRO delivered the key note address on the topic “Future of Humans Space Flight in LEO”. His talk set the stage for the panel discussion on the topic “Exploration post International Space Station”.
As part of this, Chairman ISRO visited ESA HQ at Paris on September 10, 2026 and had a meeting with Dr Josef Aschbacher, DG, ESA. During this, both leaders signed and exchanged letters for amending the existing ISRO – ESA cooperative agreement to include new cooperation areas (human and robotic exploration, space weather and sustainability of space activities) and also for extending its validity till 2032.
On September 11th, the delegation visited Toulouse space center of CNES and had a meeting with President CNES. Chairman ISRO also visited the Airbus facility and reviewed the progress in developing the payload for the ISRO-CNES joint satellite mission “TRISHNA”.
On September 10th, Chairman ISRO had a meeting with Mr. Phil Evans, DG, European Organisation for The Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites (EUMETSAT) and exchanged the ISRO – EUMETSAT Implementing Arrangement for scientific cooperation.
