H.E. Baiba Braže, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Republic of Latvia, H.E. Juris Bone, Ambassador of the Republic of Latvia to India along with Latvian Embassy officials and Industry delegates visited Antariksh Bhavan on March 19, 2025 and met with the Scientific Secretary, ISRO Mr. M. Ganesh Pillai. Senior officials from ISRO/DOS, NewSpace India Limited (NSIL) and IN-SPACe were present in the meeting.
Scientific Secretary, ISRO extended warm welcome to the Hon. Minister of Foreign Affairs and recalled the launching of Latvia’s first Satellite Venta-1 on-board the PSLV-C38 in 2017. He briefed about the positive impact the space reforms have brought to Indian Space ecosystem, which presents ample scope for Space industries of both countries for mutual cooperative and commercial engagements.
Hon. Foreign Minister of Latvia highlighted the Latvian space industries engagement with various other Space agencies and informed that collaboration in the areas of interest like Earth Observation, Laser Ranging System, Education, Research and niche Space Technology can be explored with ISRO and Space industries.
Both sides exchanged views on the areas of interest for further follow-up discussions.
