NASA-ISRO Synthetic Aperture Radar (NISAR), a collaborative mission of SAC, ISRO and NASA & JPL is a sweepSAR based dual-frequency SAR mission comprising L-band SAR developed by JPL-NASA and S-band SAR developed by SAC-ISRO and is scheduled for launch in mid-2025 from ISRO SDSC-SHAR. NISAR will provide high resolution and wide swath imaging of global landmass including polar cryosphere and coastal oceans, supporting applications in multiple disciplines.
Aligning with the New Space Policy of India which encourages Non-Governmental Entities (NGEs) to engage in various domains of space sector through innovation and technology development, Space Applications Centre, Ahmedabad, in association with IN-SPACe and NSIL, is organising a one day NISAR Awareness workshop for Indian Non-Governmental Entities (NGEi). This workshop aims to inform, engage, and encourage NGEi to leverage NISAR’s advanced capabilities, fostering both technical and commercial opportunities in Earth observation applications in line with The New Space Policy of India.
