Regional Remote Sensing Centre-North, National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC), Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), Department of Space, has signed an MOU with Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel University of Agriculture and Technology (SVPUAT) Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, premier University in India under U.P. Govt. & ICAR, Govt. of India, for Joint Collaboration for Research, Academic Interface and Outreach Activities on May 16th, 2025. The event took place at SVPUAT campus, and was presided by Dr. K. K. Singh Vice Chancellor, SVPUAT. The MOU was signed by Dr. S. K. Srivastav, Chief General Manager, Regional Centres, NRSC from ISRO side, and Dr. Kamal Khilari, Director Experiment Station, SVPUAT, from SVPUAT side. This collaboration marks a significant step toward integrating space-based technologies with agriculture using field experiments. The MoU focuses on capacity building, academic interface, and collaborative research initiatives, particularly by applying remote sensing, and advanced technologies in agriculture.

Under this partnership, both institutions aim to jointly work on:

  • Research projects addressing key challenges in agriculture through field experimentation using remote sensing.
  • Capacity building and outreach activities for students, researchers, and faculty members.
