Online ISRO Academia Day 2022 was organized by Capacity Building Programme Office (CBPO) ISRO HQ on 15th March 2022 to provide a common platform to Academia as well as the scientific community of ISRO to share their knowledge, experience and create awareness about the research opportunities available in ISRO for the promotion of Space Science & Technology, Education and Research.

Shri Somanath S, Chairman, ISRO/Secretary DOS inaugurated ISRO Academia Day 2022 and released

RESPOND Basket containing 195 research topics from all ISRO centres. Academia across the country is expected to submit proposals for entering into joint research. Chairman, ISRO also launched the online portal “i-GRASP” for the submission of research proposals including grant-in-aid management. Shri Somanath S, Chairman ISRO urged the academia to come forward and contribute to the R&D efforts of ISRO. He also highlighted that ISRO focuses on the schedule bound and product oriented research. Shri N Sudheer Kumar, Director, CBPO, ISRO HQ welcomed the Academic and Scientific community. Prof Srinivasan Raghavan, Professor & Chair, CeNSE, IISc, Bengaluru touched upon the high ended research at CeNSE in joint collaboration with ISRO and briefly highlighted the outcome of the projects. Shri Rama Kamaraju, Advisor, NITI AYOG also spoke on the occasion. Dr M A Paul, Associate Director, RESPOND & AI expressed vote of thanks.

During the technical session there were presentations highlighting the research opportunities available at various ISRO/DOS Centres. Around 700 participants from academia participated in the programme.
