Hyderabad City police approached NRSC for providing spatial/technical collaboration in tracking the Ganesh Procession and movement of idols during the annual Ganesh Nimmajan held on September 9, 2022. NRSC/ISRO devised a mobile-based Bhuvan Smart tracking application to implement vehicle tracking, integrating with near real-time data and data management to visualise, monitor, and manage the entire process . This enabled the officials to make the right decisions and provide appropriate re-deployment instructions as and when required in fleet management.
The smart tracking application has
1. Mobile Android application mounted on the vehicles which communicate location information to the Bhuvan server.
2. Server-side application on Bhuvan server to acquire data from vehicle-borne/individual devices & geo-processing and
3. Browser-based application on Bhuvan portal for visualization for monitoring vehicles' location information.
Bhuvan is an Indian Geo-platform of ISRO (https://bhuvan.nrsc.gov.in) for a host of Geo-spatial services covering 2D/3D maps, natural resource management, disaster management support, earth, and climate-related products for varied societal applications.
