Indian Space Research Programme (ISRO) encourages / supports, national/ international conferences focussed on the space activities or connected to the ISRO’s missions/ programmes/ objectives, which are conducted by recognised universities/ Institutions/ Agencies /Industry on the themes of mutual interest.

ISRO shall consider financial assistance subject to following conditions:

  1. The conference / workshop / Seminar / Symposia shall be connected to the space domain and supported by one of the ISRO centres / programme offices of ISRO Headquarters.
  2. The Organising agency shall agree to acknowledge and promote the brand ISRO in conducting the same.
  3. ISRO shall be treated as partner and due credit is to be given by the organisers in all its publicity materials like conference materials, banners etc.
  4. The Proceedings of the seminar/conference are published as an edited volume within one year. The edited volume must carry the logo of ISRO as a sponsoring institution and a similar citation must be made in the text of the volume. Two copies must be given free of cost to ISRO. ISRO should be able to purchase any additional copies at publisher's discounted price.
  5. A complete set of papers/ conference proceedings in soft copy also shall be provided to ISRO.
  6. The organisers shall allow ISRO scientists/ Engineers to participate as delegates based on the mutually agreed numbers.
  7. The agency is an NGO, then it shall be registered in the Darpan portal of Government with valid Darpan ID.
  8. All the agencies shall have valid PFMS accounts for enabling the digital payment transfer.

Rules for Conference Grant:

  1. The applicant Institute/ University/ Industry should apply to ISRO in the prescribed format either in physical or electronic form (as available in the ISRO’s website) citing the need for such conference and how it would contribute to developing greater understanding about India's space sector, research and Application.
  2. Any insufficient information shall not be considered for evaluation.
  3. A Summary of the Conference should also be submitted after the Conference/ Workshop/ Seminar elucidating the objectives of the event, salient points raised during event and the actionable suggestions.
  4. ISRO will require a minimum lead time of 2-3 months for processing the agreed proposals from the date of receipt. All proposals submitted will be subject to the review by the experts at ISRO. ISRO reserves the right to reject/support to any of the proposals.
  5. The approved funding support will be intimated to the organizers. All others may be considered as rejected.
  6. After the conference completion, the grantee should submit the Fund Utilization Certificate(Format is attached below) to ISRO.
  7. The proposal must include a forwarding letter from the Dean or Head of the Department of the Centre/President of the society/think tank.
  8. The hardcopy of the proposals with all relevant support documents shall be submitted to
