Dr K Radhakrishnan is New Director of National Remote Sensing Agency, Hyderabad

Dr K Radhakrishnan has taken over as Director, National Remote Sensing Agency (NRSA) of the Department of Space. He took over charge on November 7, 2005 from Dr R R Navalgund, who is now the Director of Space Applications Centre, Ahmedabad.

Dr Radhakrishnan started his career in ISRO as an Avionics Engineer at Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre in 1971. Later, he was the Director of Budget and Economic Analysis at ISRO Headquarters, Bangalore as well as Director of Regional Remote Sensing Service Centres. Subsequently, he was the Mission Director of Integrated Mission for Sustainable Development and Deputy Director at NRSA. Since the year 2000, he was the Director of Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services (INCOIS), Hyderabad under the Department of Ocean Development. Dr Radhakrishnan was the Vice Chairman of Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission of UNESCO and the Founder Chairman of Indian Ocean Global Ocean Observing System.
